There are so many players in the Angels Minor League system that Baseball America and baseball prospectus have no idea about, but scouts are all over these kids. The Angels have the top two scouts in all of baseball in terms of seeing potential where others don't. Most specifically Eddie Bane and Tom Kotchman, and those guys know exactly who we have.
He goes on to talk about prospects Carlos Ramirez, Fabio Martinez, Tyler Skaggs, and Garret Richards. I don't know much about prospects who aren't in Triple A, so its interesting to read someones take who seemingly does.

I seen your comment about Cain. The Giants will only part with him if they can get a top notch bat. There is no one out there that would be worth it right now. Im thinking Miguel Cabrera would be worth it although the Giants would have to throw other people in that trade.

KoC,
Cain is entering the final year of his 4 year contract. I understand that Cain also has a club option that can vest for 2011. I also understood that the Giants were in somewhat of a money crunch. A trade for Rivera will be good for 2010 and 2011, his contract is a bargain. If the trade was for 2 years of Rivera, a MLB ready catcher like Budde or Wilson, and maybe a AA pitching prospect.
San Fran wins by getting another young cheap catcher, an upgrade in left field, and a prospect pitching talent. Angels get two years of Cain.
